WHAT TO EXPECT FROM AN
OASC SUMMER CAMP:
- A staff that is unsurpassed! Our camps are led by accomplished educators and
carefully chosen college-age students who have experienced our program.
- Real-life leadership! Since students plan many of the evening activities, they are
provided with the opportunity to apply the skills they are learning.
- Long-term results! Many of our advisors say they can tell which students attend
our camps, because they stay committed throughout the year.
- Memorable Experiences! Many long-term friendships are formed at OASC camps.
SURVEY SAYS:
The U.S. average price range for
summer camps is $325—$780 a week.
- American Camp Association
A week at OASC . . . Priceless!
GREAT TRAINING FOR
ADVISORS TOO!
Advisors are not required to attend if they
send their students, since we are fully
staffed, but if you are a new or nearly
new advisor, this is the best way to
obtain curriculum ideas, and networking
opportunities. Attendees are eligible for
CPD credits, and for a small additional
fee, you may obtain 3 graduate credits
from Western Oregon University.
IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Registration deadline for the “early-bird” rate is Friday, June 10.
Campers are welcome to register after this deadline for a higher fee
and based on availability.
Some partial need-based scholarships ($200) are available through
our “Friends of OASC” program. See enclosed form or check it out
online. Limited funds are available!
A $75 non-refundable deposit must accompany each application
(sorry, we cannot reserve space without a deposit)
The balance must be paid in full by July 2, 2011. We cannot admit
campers to camp if their balance is not paid in full.
A participant commitment form must be signed by parent/guardian
and returned with the registration form.
@ CAMP:
Recreation
Recreation opportunities vary by session, but may include:
volleyball, basketball, dancing, pilates, preparing
for the talent show and socializing.
Olympics
Councils get a chance to show off their spirit and participate
in team-building events led by the junior counselors.
Talent Show
Bring your instrument, dance shoes, singing voice or
other talent with you to share with the camp on this popular
night!
Council Challenge
This event will truly test your group process skills by
competing in physical and mental challenges as a
council.
Banquet
The campers get dressed up for this special affair, take
pictures with their council and enjoy a delicious catered
meal.
Dance
We love to dance at OASC—four of the five nights we are
Shaking it up! Many of these dances have themes, so
check your registration confirmation for more
information.
Tranquility
Most evenings will close with inspiring stories and/or
songs—lead by a senior or junior counselor. The
perfect way to end a day.
